t.v. series...

i'm looking for some new t.v. series to watch. i keep watching "sports night" over and over. i've seen some of the buffy and smallville series. i was thinking about "hill street blues", when that was originally on, i was too young to appreciate it. "st. elsewhere" and "trapper john, m.d." have been recommended, but i'm not sure if they're on dvd. i love "weeds", and last trip out caught watched "dead like me".

anyways, i'm open to suggestions. although i'm gonna go ahead and pre-emptively say no to "lost" and "heroes", "desperate housewives" and "sex and the city".

I heard Dexter is awesome but I have neither Showtime nor the energy to track it down otherwise. Therefore, a suggestion I can properly make according to viewing experience is Huff. Ah-may-zhing. Was canceled after the second season and only the first season is available on DVD but it is brilliant. Oh, and if you want mindless giggles - 30 Rock first season is fantastic.

Prison Break
Saturday Night Live
24
Deadwood
All Creatures Great and Small - it was an mini series inspired by real-life British country veterinarian James Herriot's popular books. It was a BBC thing.

Why no to Lost and Heroes? Those are two of my faves, and I highly recommend them...

Besides them, I would second the suggestion for Prison Break... Also, 24... Start with the first season of either one...

Oops... how could I forget The Unit?

Also, Numb3rs... it's like CSI for Math Geeks!!!

... and Psych is one of the FUNNIEST shows on TV.

If you want raunchy and horribly entertaining, check out the first couple seasons of Nip/Tuck. It's bad but oh so addictive. Carnivale is also pretty good. I'll keep thinking on it...

Curb Your Enthusiasm if you haven't seen it. Flight of the Conchords is really funny also.

You can see some of the Flight of the Conchords songs on You tube.
