wow. color me humble...

so lawgirl said i make her think. well, she's actually said a couple more really nice things about me lately, both with the tattoo suggestion and the thinking blog award and it means alot, because i think she's a pretty sharp woman and the fact that i might actually give her reason to pause in the middle of her crazy days and think about something i've written is a huge compliment.

so who are my five? well, the bad part about our group of blog friends is that it's a mutual love-fest. so i'm going to try and nominate a couple of people who might be lesser read in the circle.

bigwhitehat i admire the heck out of this guy for several reasons. he's going through the same trials and tribulations as everyone, trying to find the balance in all aspects of life and he's willing to document those trials for all to read. it's really nice to know you're not alone, and being able to read his blogs does that for me. he's a highly religious and moral man, and i like that. i think there are alot of men like him out there, but because they are modest, they tend to not draw alot of attention to themselves. i frequently hear "where have all the good men gone?". they're out there. we're just not noticing them. maybe we should ignore the flash and bling and pay a little more attention to the people that've got some real substance. i also like this guy because he's found the secret of happiness. he finds happiness in the little things. and strings the little things together to make a big happy.

jl4 this guy has been there and done that and is now writing one of the best blogs out there. he's insightful, witty, sarcastic, timely... sometimes he shares a story from his past or his personal life. sometimes he's taking potshots at people who deserve to be called out for their silliness. he does it all well, and frequently makes me stop and rethink my position. or hell, sometimes he makes me think about it for the first time, because i'd made a gut reaction.

cora one of the first blogs i started reading regularly and one of my first readers. she's all over the place with her blogs and i love that. she's also kinda feeds my softer side and gives me hope for a long and happy marriage and a great family. she doesn't make it sound easy, she just makes it sound doable...

courtney, definately... i don't know how or why or when it all happened, but her blog has been a must-read for a long time now. alot of it started for the music, but then when i read her other posts she was always engaging my mind in some way. i'd say we're probably opposites in alot of politics but that makes it more fun and more exciting to read her posts. she had a great series going for awhile, about her town and it made me kinda want to try some of their food. or i'm really scared of it. not 100% sure which yet.

ontheblogbandwagon makes me daydream about chucking my job and catching the first flight anywhere. i dunno what's going on in her life right now, but her most recent post about her breakup just wows the hell out of me. it's a sad topic, for sure and i'm sure she's hurting. but that post just to me embodies a ton of class and maturity that alot of people are lacking.

so. thanks lawgirl. it was relatively painful to try to come up with a list that was ONLY five blogs long, but i was aided by my own procrastination. i didn't want to nominate anyone who had already been nominated.
