Why is your serpentine belt in your office?

And you look like it's been a LONG week dear. Beer time!

amy/jules... to over simplify there's a shaft through the engine. when the engine does what the engine does it spins that. one end comes out one side of the engine and goes to the transmission and eventually makes the wheels spin and the car go. the other end comes out the front and usually does a variety of things. usually there's a pulley on it, and around that pulley is a belt which spins things. in the old days, there used to be multiple belts, and when the engine turned, it'd spin the belts which would spin the a/c compressor, make your power steering work, spin your alternator to keep your battery charged. the problem with that was it was a hassle to change them if one belt broke. so then some genius came up with the idea of a serpentine belt. much easier to change because one belt spun everything. but if it breaks, you also lose everything.

Sadly, I've had that happen. I'm sorry it happened to you.

I don't know a lot about motors, but I'm pretty sure that sucks.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure when snakes wear belts, it becomes a tangled mess!
